E878_23 - The aim of the experiment is the neutron energy dependence of the measurement of the mass yields of the fission of 237Np triggered by fast neutrons in the neutron energy range [1,40] MeV. The fission fragments are identified in mass by the E-V method, where energy and velocity are determined event by event. The combination of the velocity and of the kinetic energy of each fragment allows for the determination of the mass. The reacting neutrons are identified in energy by the time-of-flight (TOF) technique.
