Abstract
The goal of this experiment is a precise measurement of the energy spectrum of beta particles emitted in 6He decay, with the aim to search for possible tensor couplings in the weak interaction. The energy spectrum is measured using a calorimetry technique, in which the 6He nuclei are fully surrounded by an active detector and the beta particle do not escape. This eliminates the main instrumental effect in beta spectroscopy, which is the scattering and backscattering of beta particles on materials.
